A Japanese web site dedicated to the designs of Luigi Colani has commissioned a series of ten 12-inch action figures as a tribute to the great man.
Professor Luigi Colani, now 80 years old, was the original design superstar from the 1970’s.
Professor Colani will be presented with serial number 01 of the 10 unit limited series.
Colani: The Art of Shaping the Future by Albrecht Bangert is available here. It’s a magnificent volume, beautifully produced with hundreds of drawings and photos, that showcases for the first time Colani’s wide-ranging oeuvre in the context of international design history. Also, it’s just, well, incredibly cool.
