Planetizen.com chooses two PA PRESS titles as best of the year! · Nov 24, 01:26 PM

Planetizen is pleased to release its eighth annual list of the ten best books in the planning field. With titles covering some of the most timely issues in planning — from form-based codes to exploding growth in China — the list gives readers an overview of the best ideas and writing in the field.

The Planetizen editorial staff based its 2009 edition list on a number of criteria, including editorial reviews, sales rankings, popularity, Planetizen reader nominations, number of references, recommendations from experts and the book’s potential impact on the urban planning, development and
design professions.

The Los Angeles Times Book Review says:
“…Romero’s scenarios are born of current realities, and for him — despite massive inequities — the key reality is interdependence, so much so that “one nation’s future depends on the other,” he argues. More Coca-Cola is consumed per capita in Mexico than in any other country; money sent home from the U.S. exceeds local incomes in five Mexican states, and Wal-Mart is the largest private employer in both countries.”
