If you are a fan of our 2005 book Cocinando! you won’t want to miss the new movie El Cantante starring Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony. Cocinando! includes many of Lavoe’s album covers including the Comedia album pictured below.
El Cantante is a biopic about Puerto Rican salsa singer, Héctor Lavoe. Lavoe, played by Marc Anthoby, known by his nicknames “El Cantante” (The Singer) and “La Voz” (The Voice). Lavoe sang with the salsa stars of 70’s on Fania records.
